Where In The World Is Ruffles & Macarons?

Here it is – the Bucket List Post!!

Recently I read an article from Travel + Leisure that suggested, with scientific research, that wanderlust is genetic.  After reading, I immediately forwarded it to my parents with all of the travel emojis that I could find.  Reason being, they instilled in me a love for exploring new places and learning about different cultures.  I’m pleased to say that I’ve married a man who I’ve been able to pass this yearning onto.  And I’m even more excited that he’ll be able to accompany me on my bucket list adventures. You’ve Guac To Be Kidding Me

I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t try guacamole until I was 23 years old.  I went 23 years without taking the pleasure of dipping a tortilla chip into a mound of the heavenly greenness, known as guacamole.  But since I’m not fond of dwelling on the past, I’ll just savor in the past few years that I have been able to enjoy it and the many years of guacamole eating that are yet to come! Bourbon Balls with a Kick!

Almost exactly 5 years ago, I was in Antwerp, Belgium, and was searching for a cup of hot cocoa.  While walking through the outside markets, I found a delicate stand to get my warm cup of joy.  Upon paying, they asked if I would like it spicy.  I had never heard of spicy hot chocolate before but I decided to give it a try.  I watched them sprinkle cayenne pepper into my cup and I thought, “This is genius!”. Easy Gooey Rice Cereal Treats

There’s some desserts that you end up growing out of when you enter into adulthood.  Twinkies, Zebra Cakes, Cosmic Brownies… but never the Rice Krispie Treat.  The Rice Krispie Treat is an iconic staple of childhood that still means as much to me as an adult as it did 20 years ago.  There’s just something about pulling a chunk off and having a foot of sticky marshmallow string stretch out… heavenly.   Continue reading
